The problem: A Senior Director had a 40-slide keynote packed with copy. Instead of presenting, she was essentially reading the deck to the audience.
The idea: The speaker tells the story. The slides make it land. One strong visual idea per slide, not paragraphs competing for attention.
The work: I coached her on the fundamentals of presenting live, then we rebuilt the deck together, slide by slide. We stripped each slide down to the essential idea, often a single stat, image, or graphic, and moved the deeper narrative into a carefully written speaker script.
The result: The deck stopped being the presentation and started supporting it. She was able to speak directly to the audience with confidence, while the visuals reinforced the story instead of repeating it. The audience was watching her, not reading along.
